China MaMa

We haven't had a good Chinese Restaurant to add into the rotation until now. I've had a craving for proper soup dumplings ever since Tate & Ally introduced us to them in Suzhou. Hand-cut noodles and crispy beef were also awesome. Even toilet took me back to China.

Claresholm 7 Eleven

I wonder how many times I've used this one over the last few decades. It's an icon.

FRA- Race Across Frankfurt Airport

I forgot how big this place was. We raced to catch connection from Vilnius to SFO. Made it with bags somehow getting on the plane only to have United lose one on the transfer to LAS, with a 2 hr connection. German efficiency! Lufthansa is a nice airline. Wish I would've had time for a bratwurst.

Omni-Mandalay Hotel - Dallas

Bug silhouettes on a dirty hotel window. If today's weather is in any way predictive, seeing Dallas in November is good timing. Orchids in the men's room . . . a nice touch.

Xian International Airport

original image withheld to protect the innocent

Unfortunately for me I can never un-see it the original scene. I tried to look straight ahead but I couldn't.  I can honestly say that my staring certainly didn't seem to bother the object of my persistent stares.

Picture a middle-aged Chinese guy using a squatter while smoking a cigarette and surfing the web on his iPhone.  Only one problems: he didn't bother to close the door of the stall.

Stockholm, Sweden

Almost to Lithuania on what proved to be a long trip. The view of the Baltic after taking off in Stockholm is amazing. Undoubtedly worth a trip on its own.

It's been called a flying submarine. It got us to Vilnius from Stockholm well enough. Awesome views of Sweden's long coastline as it fingers into the Baltic Sea.

Lou Ruvo Center For Brain Health - Las Vegas

It seems kind of rude to treat patients with brain disorders in a building that looks this chaotic. It is architecturally very interesting both inside and outside. The story behind it is as interesting as the building is weird. Fortunately the urinals are somewhat normal.

Trakai Castle, Lithuania

Storybook castle with ramparts, moat, secret passages and even a giant drawbridge. Pretty cool museum inside with portraits of the kings looking pretty fierce.

Spent some quality time at this place growing up. Fun visiting it with dad.

La Crepe - Vilnius, Lithuania

The borscht was shockingly pink but so good with the sour cream and fried potatoes. Dinner crepe with pork, onions and sautéed vegetables was also awesome. Try doing this puzzle after 36 hrs no sleep. Nothing spectacular about toilet, but that couldn't be said of sunset on the street In front of our hotel.
